Stupid stupid people ... or so I say ...

Like previously said, today I went to the movies, my first visit to the Freeport (Firefox & otherwise beware of bad site coding :) ) , an 'outlet shopping' with 30 something movie screens. We took the long road to get there and we had our chance to see more than our share of stupid people driving, people that despite having absolutely no chance of overtaking still get so close to the car that the air their taking in is the gases my car gives out ...

Anyway, as we got there we went to park the car, and just by looking we could see there wasn't really a point in trying to park near the entrance, so we started looking for spaces and .... well, we found lots of them, just none big enough for an actual car. Why ? Because people don't take much care of the lines that have been drawn on the ground to organize the parking, so basically they park wherever suits them ...... we took a deep meaningful breath and carried on. We finally came to the furthest point from the entrance (the most likely place to find a space) and parked. Now, I'll grant you this, the lines are somewhat hard to make out, but I got out of the car and Miss Wife Driver parked it where she was supposed to. That same instant two cars drove in and parked in such a way that they were taking not one, not two, but four marvelous spaces (thus taking eight 'organized' spaces ... just because they wanted), I put up my best smile and told them to backup up and correct their position .. they did just that, no questions asked .. very sheep like I guess :) .

Anyway, skipping along with a lot of craziness and general stupidity of children ripping plants apart while their parents laugh with pride and joy, or the way a movie theater goes from a very clean and empty room, to a very dark room filled with talking people to finally become a very very very messed up empty room. The usual argument seems to be "just leave it there, THEY will clean it" ... nice .... anyway, being just about feed up with people in general I decided to go check out a book store where a young couple just had to trip on a welcome mat, flipping it and bending it so that more people could trip on it ... did they take notice and/or straited the thing up ... right ... no :) , AND LAST ... but really not least, as I was trying to exit the store, four members of a, undoubtably upstanding family, where ... standing in front of the door, providing a very effective substitute to glass or metal as they took out any chances of anyone getting in or out. Again, I gathered my best smile and asked for permission but the poor lady was trying to get someone on the phone and really couldn't be bothered with the likes of me ... I asked again, slightly less smiley and slightly louder and the rest of the family budged enough for us to get through ... how kind of them :) ...... after that I closed my eyes only to open them back home, because there's not enough deep breaths in the world to help a guy :) .........

Now, I don't consider myself superior in any way, I do believe I can be a very very stupid person even if I don't think so myself, so I tend to ask people to tell me when I'm being that way, and I'm not making a very elaborate point, or offering solutions to what I consider to be a growing problem, but I really had to say something, today was an Epiphany of human stupidity as far as my day was concerned ... and anyway, I just wanted to say this ... one day I'll talk about how we should use non-fatal violence to teach people that there are other living beings around them ... but that's for another opportunity :)
